The Person of the Year is…

December 19, 2007

Wow! in just one year the Time Person of the Year went from us (i.e. everyone who uses a social networking site or blogs) to Russian President (Dictator) Vladimir Putin.
In other news, the Least Person of the Year 2007 was a tie between Britney Spears and KFed. They will be taking the disputed outcome to court.

Say my name say my name…unless it’s ‘Friday’

December 19, 2007

An Italian court ruled that a couple can not name their child “Friday” because of an obscure law the country has preventing parents from naming their offspring anything “shameful or ridiculous.” The judge said with a name like Friday the child would be a “laughingstock” amongst his peers.
Clearly, this judge isn’t paying attention to the current trend in Hollywood of parental celebs trying to outdo each other by giving their kid the most laughable name. In a class with Apple, Siri, Moon Unit and Indiana, that Friday kid would look relatively normal.

No love for Into The Wild

December 13, 2007

Granted, the only movie that the Golden Globes nominated today for best film of 2007 is “American Gangster” but where is the love for “Into the Wild”? If not for best film, Emile Hirsche at least should have been nominated for best actor -apparently losing 40 pounds doesn’t get you as far as it used to.

The Twisted MTV Culture

December 12, 2007

Here is a great article from Relevant Magazine on how the MTV culture has influenced our youth by promoting the affluent. Not that there is anything wrong with pretending you live in Orange County, have gobs of money to spend on such necessities as tanning and pedicures, spending 10$ on a rum and coke and ignoring the oppressed. Oh, wait, there is something wrong with that.
